Science Fair: All students from 1st grade and up are required to participate in our annual Science Fair. Attached please find the packet to support parents and students in this project. Please submit your Science Fair topic by Friday, 12/17/21 on the form attached. Projects will be due on Monday, 2/28/22. We also appreciate parents who would be willing to judge our Science Fair on Monday, February 28th, 2022 for the entire school day. Please stop by the front desk or email email@example.com to sign-up. We appreciate your support.
12/10-17 Winter Festivals: Family and friends are invited to join us for our Winter Festival program. Students will participate in special musical and/or theatrical performances celebrating all the joys of the season. We recommend that families wear jackets and bring a blanket to sit on. Mark your calendars now for your child's Winter Festival. We have changed the dates from the yearlong calendar so that we can hold our Festivals outside in person rather than virtually. Other Ways to Give Back this Holiday Season
March 2022 AMS Conference - Every year our teachers attend the AMS conference to find inspiration, make connections, and learn valuable skills. The cost to participate in this year's hybrid conference is up to $700 per teacher. Please consider supporting our Montessori teachers through a tax deductible donation. You can donate to a specific teacher, classroom, or the entire staff by completing the attached form. Thank you for all of your support!
11/29-12/10 Giving Tree Garland: We are collecting holiday gifts for impoverished families in the Las Vegas area. Thank you to those who have already picked up a gift tag. We still have several families in need. Please stop by the front office for more information or simply choose a tag located in front of the building. For each gift you purchase, return the item(s) wrapped with the name of the child on the outside no later than Friday, 12/10. Please encourage your student to donate and discuss why we help those in need based on your family’s personal beliefs and values.
This year our Upper Elementary & Adolescent Community students are planning end-of-the-year trips to Pathfinder Ranch and Catalina Island. Funds raised will assist students in attending these out-of-state excursions.
Scholastic Book Fair & Pancake Breakfast: A huge THANK YOU to all of our families! Our Book Fair sales this year will benefit your school, and your students with funds and books!! Our total book sales were an incredible $7,183.00!! Thank you, MVA Families, for another successful book fair. We earned $865 in books, along with many books donated to the classrooms, and $1,255 in cash for our PTO initiatives. Our Pancake Breakfast was also a success with $1,791 in sales, and profits from that event will help our AC students attend Catalina Island Marine Biology Institute in the Spring.
12/6-10 Student Craft Fair: Please join us for MVA’s first annual student craft fair in the lobby at each campus. Shop early and choose from a selection of hand-crafted, student-made items. Dry rubs, sugar scrubs, foot soaks, bookmarks, cork & felt coasters, embellished hairbands, herbed infused vinegars and oils, games, doggie biscuits, and tie-dye socks. Proceeds benefit our Adolescent Community to attend the Catalina Island Marine Biology Institute.
12/13-17 Holiday Store: Drop off your student and do your holiday shopping all in one place, in the lobby of each campus. As an economics project, students have budgeted, shopped, and priced gifts that will be sold all week.
12/13-17 Candy Grams: Order candy grams for your child, a few friends, or for an entire classroom! Orders can be placed by completing the attached order form and including cash or writing at the bottom to charge your credit card. They will be delivered in class the week of December 13th for children to enjoy at home.

Food Donation: We will be discussing the gift of food and ways we can share with others who are in need. The lower elementary students have proved a box in the front office of each campus from now through December 10th for students to donate canned and boxed foods to support impoverished families in Las Vegas, in conjunction with Ronald McDonald House and Catholic Worker.
Other upcoming events:
12/22 Winter Break Care: We are closed for Winter Break from December 20, 2020-January 2, 2022. However, we will be offering drop-in care from December 20-23 and December 27-30. This year our spots are limited and will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. As previously mentioned reservations are due by December 3, 2021. In this way, we can schedule our staff appropriately and allow for some additional time off for them to be with their families. Non-refundable winter break care tuition is additional to the school year tuition and will be due when holiday care is scheduled. Please see the front desk with any questions.
December & January Birthdays: Attached is the form to celebrate your child's birthday at school. Please return the form to the school two weeks prior to the day you would like to celebrate. If your child has an upcoming birthday and you would like for them to participate in our Circle of the Sun Celebration please complete the form below and return as soon as possible.
