Anastasia Fotis

Ms. Fotis has 30 years of experience in the Montessori environment, and has worked with all age levels. She has a love of learning and a sincere appreciation for the Montessori Method. She is a certified Montessori Lower Elementary, Middle School and High School teacher. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies from California State University, Sacramento. She moved to Las Vegas in September 2018 from Sacramento, where she raised her two boys. She loves hiking, cooking, and quiet time with a good book.

Jamie Swalley

Ms. Swalley comes to MVA with a growing appreciation for the Montessori Philosophy that first took root in 1993 while caring for the children of a Montesssori family. She is working towards her Montessori Teacher Certificate at the Secondary Level. Born in Iowa and raised nomadically, she relocated from Colorado to Las Vegas to be near family. Ms. Swalley has worked with children of all ages in multiple forms of academic settings with a focus on dyslexia remediation since 2007. She privately tutored, consulted, screened for dyslexia, conferred with parents, administrators, SpEd teachers, neuropsychologists, speech therapists, vision therapists, fellow reading specialists, and assisted in several school-wide intervention programs. She earned a BA in Liberal Studies with a minor in Psychology from SDSU, is a Certified Barton Tutor, trained in the Orton-Gillingham Approach and is a CA certified teacher with English and English as a Second Language specialties. Ms. Swalley rescues orphaned books, is an artist, a writing coach, and yoga teacher.
