Elementary Curriculum
Our elementary education program begins the next two planes of development for children. These planes encompass lower elementary, from ages 6-9, and upper elementary, from ages 9-14. All students work with materials at their own pace until they have mastered a particular subject, and then are guided to the next sequential level.
The material learned in the elementary classroom is based upon experimentation and independent discovery. At the heart of the Montessori elementary curriculum lays the Cosmic Curriculum. During this period, students develop a newfound interest and awareness of the world. Our teachers present lessons which will teach the students to understand our function within the world and how the world relates to students in order to aid the students in creating a meaningful relationship with the rest of the world.
Within the middle school's curriculum, the focus adresses the new set of needs for the students. Students venture out of their comfort zone to try and find their place within the wider world. Middle school students need to actively become participants in theworld outside, and the Montessori program offers the perspective and prospect for each student to do so.
